Michigan Association of Fire Fighters

PART 8 – MAFF’S LIVINGTON COUNTY EMS CONTRACT

If Detroit EMS employees would like yet another reason to change their representation to Michigan Association of Fire Fighters (MAFF), they simply should take a look at what MAFF has done for another EMS group in Livingston County.

While Detroit EMS is covered by Public Act 312, allowing them to go to arbitration when a contract cannot be settled, Livingston County EMS is not. Despite that fact, Livingston County EMS has better wages and benefits than Detroit EMS. Those wages and benefits were negotiated through MAFF representation, NOT arbitration.

If MAFF representatives can negotiate a competitive package for units without 312, imagine what they can do for Detroit EMS!

Come to the MAFF General Meeting from 1-4 p.m. this Thursday, Aug. 18 for more information. The meeting will take place in the Motown room at Bert’s Market Place Jazz Club, located at 2727 Russell St. in Detroit, between Mack and Gratiot in the Eastern Market District.
