Lighthouse Uniform Company

Dear Mr. Timpner,

Greetings from the Lighthouse Uniform Company.

I am contacting you relative to your position as Executive Director of the Michigan Association of Firefighters.

I wanted to broach the subject of the new LODD Resource Program the Lighthouse Uniform Company has put together and see if you see enough value to help make it available to the membership of your  organization. There are no cost, no obligation and hopefully no one will ever use it.

Very briefly, over the last 13 years running the Fallen Fire Fighter Dress Uniform Program, we found it was not uncommon when faced with a LODD, to find departments scrambling for casket flags, bunting, mourning bands, stuff like that. After identifying those things, we went in search of manufacturers willing and capable providing those items ‘overnight’. The result of our search is the program we are calling ‘With All Due Respect’. This is the link, http://www.lighthouseuniform.com/LODDResourceProgram/. Please take a look. We’d appreciate any feedback, questions or comments.

This program has been described by Ron Siarnicki, Executive Director of NFFF, as the missing piece of their ‘Taking Care of Our Own’ Program. That of supplying those incidental items, often not in a department’s inventory and ‘needed’ in the middle of a fire related tragedy.

As with almost all LODD Programs, the ‘With All Due Respect’ LODD Resource Program and its value to Firefighters and their families, is predicated on awareness and timeliness and we think State Firemen's Associations and their respective websites can and should play an invaluable role.

The following is a quote from Mike Brown, Executive Director of the Washington Fire Chiefs Association. "The Washington Fire Chiefs (the first association to link up) have joined with Lighthouse Uniform to introduce "With All Due Respect". We encourage all Fire Service Organizations and Fire Departments to endorse and support this valuable program. The WFC has included this program in our state LODD procedures. Make "With All Due Respect" assets available to your departments and members.  When the need arises, be prepared!" The purpose of this communication is twofold; one to introduce you to ‘With All Due Respect’, the other was to ask you to consider linking this valuable LODD Resource to your home page. Please respond to this email, yea or nay and we will take it from there.

Best regards,

Steve Cohen, Pres.
