publication can be downloaded by fire departments planning
to apply to the Assistance to Fire Fighting Grant Program
(AFGP). It was released by the Department of Homeland
Security's Office for Domestic Preparedness and the
US Fire Administration.
The
Program Guidance Booklet provides applicants with insight
into the priorities that have been established for assistance,
as well as the kinds of activities that are eligible
in the 2004 Fire Grant application period, which opened
March 1.
Potential
applicants are encouraged to carefully review the guidance
facts and compare their department's needs and circumstances
with the program's priorities. This will provide a guide
for defining their competitive application in the process.

listing needs that best reflect the priorities will
